Great stuff Pete. And a nice in-your-face to all the naysayers that said a 4.0 would never happen; would never have 500hp; or that the car is too heavy. Love it.

+1, thanks

I think I will stick with my RS, no sense in spending 50K more

50K is a bargain. If I had the money to get one at MSRP I would.

Maybe, hopefully I will have enough money in a few years to bridge the gap between 3.8 and 4.0....

::-/...I want one, but, I'm a patient man. At least, that's what I have to keep reminding myself :ROFL!:

Well he said it himself, perfect car for the bubble wrappers. Comparable to 2.7 RS

Great post!

And for the record, I would lurve to buy a 4.0. I think it'll be amazing! It's just hard to justify it...

True but how many bubble-wrapped 2.7 RS's do you see floating around. Most ended getting properly driven.

I don't see many RS2.7s at events, and may I do but don't recognize them; do you guys see them often enough?

What do you mean "it's hard to justify it"? You just did "justify it", you said it was amazing :D

I only see the ones sitting in warehouses or garages being sold back and forth for big money

Just reviewing specs between 3.8 and 4.0 RS. Didn't realize how much wider the powerband is on the new 4.0.

3.8 RS: HP-450@7900; TQ-317@6750 Powerband: 1150 RPM
4.0 RS: HP-500@8250; TQ-339@5750 Powerband: 2500 RPM

Should yield a car that's much easier to drive on the street and drive quickly on the track. Pretty impressive stuff.

Trying to bring a fresh approach here: only post if I have something useful or interesting. Hence the "new" identity. I can always PM you a reminder each time I post if that helps.

P.S. Was this post useful?

True.

But that leaves the wife and child out of the equation. :beatinghead:

It is important that the world out there understands the mission of the RS 4.0. This is purely a motorsports project that we came up with ourselves, not sales department.

How many times has he used this line before? It seems that he is more of a salesperson than engineer. i.e., if you have to point something out, then the statement is false.
