Great weekend at Thunderhill Raceway hanging with my track pals. Mikymu was there with his Cup which he kept on track :p and Lar and Cameron were looking good too. Several other regular Porsche guys were there as well in a variety of models making for a fun D group.

Finally getting very comfortable with the car and I remain simply thrilled with the handling. Seems the harder I push the car the more it gives back. I dialed in a touch more push and gave it a bit more camber to work the tires more evenly and consistent, drama-free, fast lap times show it is a good set-up.

Some vid and pics.

I ran my fastest time ever, on my street tires, and was able to harass my pals on slicks so some self back patting there...lol :D The GT3 in front of me is on Hoosiers and a 4-way Ohlins suspension.

Mike in his new (to him) Cup- watch the rear view cam for first half of video. He is getting faster every lap:

I really enjoyed watching these vids Pete, awesome driving. Interesting that you ran the best times with street tires, any particular reason you think?

I could not help but notice, especially on the first vid, either the camera or your car was slightly wobbling side to side on road undulations, if it was the car, do you think it might help to increase the rebound a little, may be just on the rears?

This event was run by Hooked on Driving. It was billed as "Summerfest". It could have more accurately been named "Porschefest" by Hooked on Porsches. LOL

There were a heck of a lot of P-cars out there! I thought it was the GGR chapter of the PCA a few times. LOL

I'm pretty sure that I'm the caboose in this train. :-((

This run group sure had some wicked fast drivers. And Trackrat was right up there at the top of the time sheets!

Always fun to hang out with you, buddy. Looking forward to doing it again soon!

Thanks Peter! Yes indeed, dialed in, nothing I would want to change.

You know they say the camera adds 10 lbs? Perhaps it also accentuates my errors? lol...Maybe you are noticing road undulations? Increasing rebound damping could be interesting and make it even better in the transitions, always willing to try something different. Will let you know :pals:

Have always ran street tires of some sort, never slicks. Trying to learn just what the car has to give and in my opinion that is best done with tires that have some forgiveness while finding the edge. These videos were on my usual Pirelli Trofeo's.

That is a fact :-))) Event organizer was joking about it. The more the better :-DD Let it be recognized that there were a couple well-driven race-prep Corvettes there that were stunningly fast.

It is soooo much fun to run with similar speed GTs on the track and friends that you know about their driving. The pictures and vids are just awesome. Every time I come back from track I tell my wife, "yeah, I'm done for a month or so," then I watch and read stories like this and want to go back out there again :(
