High Desert Hijinks- SCCA CT/PDX Reno Fernley

Good times were had by all, no incidents, good weather. Thanks to "Chris the Rabbit" in the well driven Corvette, chasing him led me to my best time of the day and beat him out by 3/100's of a second for 3rd place overall behind a GT-R and 600hp (?) race prepped Evo. 5500 foot altitude and a track with lots of elevation change left me with a knife at the gunfight :-)))

A great bunch of fun with a great group of drivers. Have I mentioned lately how much I love driving this car? Oh my. The new suspension is just so unbelievably good.

Oh! My first weekend coaching (SCCA apprentice coach) . Great fun and the guy I worked with a real joy. Driving a supercharged Lingenfelter 650hp Camaro. Whewwwww. Sounded great and of course massive acceleration. He was a gem of a driver though and had superb feel for the car and we knocked lots of time off his laps. Fun!

Nice pics Pete!
Sounds like that old blue beater / rolling test bed is set up pretty good :-)
Very rewarding to have students with some talent, I keep instructing to find that once in a while gem in the rough.

For a piece of crap :D it does pretty well...lol.

Shocking how much later I can brake than the 'Vette. He and I were talking about how he tried to follow me deep into a brake zone and barely kept the car on the track.

Rear weight bias for the win?

Transitions too, still probing just how fast I can transition (for example in essess's) without losing the car. So freaking planted and sticky- amazingly high limits. Can catch nearly any car in slow or high speed essess's.

The corvette's still feel a little trucky, light as they are.
No denying the take off like a rocket out of the corner though....
