Have you looked in to the IQ3 dash unit
? It is programmable to a point that I think it can replace the stock dash and would fits nicely with a little construction. The only things that won't work probably is the turn signals and few of the computer warning lights. I have been dreaming of undertaking the project, but I depend too much on all of the functionality for daily commute.
