Re: First time out in the Cup Car
It's the old autocrosser in me. It doesn't take me 2 laps to get the slicks working.

Re: First time out in the Cup Car
Great to meet you Larry. Sorry we didn't have more time to chat; next time.
Wow! Very impressive especially considering the car is new to you. Great driving and you make it look so easy. Thanks for posting this. It allows me to overlay my laps to see where I am losing time. I already knew T1 and T2 were weak spots for me and sure enough I am losing 2 seconds from T1 to the bus stop. I plan on comparing our laps more closely. There were a few brief moments, when I was following you, that I thought I could hang.....not! But in those moments I was blown away by how stable the car looked. I want one!!! My car's new to me this year too and I don't have many days at the Glen; in any car. My goal was to turn some 2:04's but I fell just short. I was able to run a few 2:05's but struggled to find clean laps without traffic. I am surprised you found so much open track! What session was this? Oh! and thanks for not posting any vid where you pass me Enjoy your cup! |

Re: First time out in the Cup Car
I think you are right. I really dislike when people go 50-60% of their normal speeds during the outlap waiting to warm up the tires. I think it takes longer when you do that. While I was autoxing, we had to be up to speed on first run right after the first couple of gates, and at the end of the run, we'd have to cool down the tires by spraying water on them
