GT2RS Track Pics and Video

Trying to get used to driving a turbo car is a challenge. Lag is short, but it is there and does take a second or two to ramp up from sleepy 3.6 to Lighty Beast It took me until the last laps, of the last session, on the second day to post my best times. So 1. there is a learning curve and 2. The boy is capable of learning lol

All stock except for the MovIt ceramic replacement rotors (another thread) which were excellent. Oh, and a BK harness bar with Schroth GT3 specific belts. OE MPSC tires running 32-33 PSI hot. Rear bar full stiff, front bar 1 from full stiff. Tightened both on second day to try and tighten the whole platform as much as possible as I find it to be under dampened and under sprung when pressed hard. If a case could be made for more track duty I would put the same Intrax system on it I have on my 3RS (detailed in other post).

But for a street legal production car it was relatively neutral and benign handling out of the box.

I am looking forward to your MovIt review. Bite, modulation, fade, etc.... I just switched from ceramics to steel. Initial bite seems slightly less but pedal feel during modulation is much improved.

I love the tag, but... with so many people use the word "benign" for the 911, GT3, GT2 and GT2 RS now, that may be you need to change it now.

Awesome shots. Are your calipers changing color, getting darker, or it shows that way behind black wheels?

What are the spring rates on the 3RS Pete?

Writing it up in a few minutes, good stuff. One of the challenges for me to drive a turbo car is that there are some sections of the track where I am trail braking while at the same time need to be on the throttle to spool up the turbos. So not sure how best to tackle that problem. High class problem I suppose

That was a lovely Challenge Mustang from the series a year or two back. Just very pretty and very well set up. Great guy driving it too. He crashed his 'Vette at Infineon last year and bought the 'Stang as a replacement. Fabulous track day toy in my opinion.

If/when I summon the testicular fortitude to turn off the TC and PSM I may no longer use "benign" as a description . But true on the tag In mid-speed steady state corners as I trail brake in, I can feel PSM working in the brake pedal trying to shape the trajectory. Without the electronics it would be interesting to see how it feels. My guess is that most situations would be fine except for 2nd gear WOT applications where the back end would become "exciting". Need to experiment some after I get more used to the car.

No color change on calipers, must be how the photo was taken.

I know exactly what you mean. I need to learn how to left foot break. I've just started doing it on the street and will try to do everyday until it's 2nd nature.

Interesting, I haven't even tried on the GT3. On the Cayman you couldn't as it cut off throttle, so I guess we can on the GTs? They must have changed the DME programming...

You don't have too! The throttle response in your car is awesome! It was the ride I took with you and Ryan that showed me the weak spots for a turbo. The most vivid example was the top of the roller coaster (14a-15) and T4 at VIR.

I am told you can apply moderate throttle with moderate braking......but I haven't tried it yet. Anyone doing it? Is this true?
