Hey Izzone,

There are two ways to put pictures into a post.

1. By Attaching them
2. By Embedding them

Method 1, Attaching them, is certainly easier. This is what you did in your post. But method 2, Embedding them, produces much nicer results and functionality. Embedding a picture provides some real advantages, including:
  • Embedded Pictures are automatically resized to 800x600 in the post, but can be dynamically zoomed and resized to the users screen.
  • Embedded pictures can be viewed sequentially with the Next/Previous buttons.
  • Embedded pictures just look cool and make the threads really pop.
  • Attached pictures get lost, buried in old threads and forgotten about.
  • When a member places a picture into an album, it adds an element of value to the site. Members can proudly share their albums, and other interested members can view them.
  • When you have pictures stored in albums you can embedded them you into an article, thread or how to in order to show many step by step pictures in context.
You can see my album here: http://www.gt2gt3cup.org/album.php?a...=1&pictureid=5

Or you can see All Albums here: http://www.gt2gt3cup.org/all_albums.php

To embed an image into a thread, you can copy the 'BB Code' that is displayed under the picture, and then paste it into a thread where you want it, like this:

Click the image to open in full size.

OK, so how do you get started?

Uploading Pictures to a Photo Album

Note - Remember you can click any of these pictures for a closer look.

1). From the front page, find the 'Photos & Files' menu on the Navigation Bar, and select 'My Photo Albums'

Click the image to open in full size.

2). Find and click on the 'Add Album' link

Click the image to open in full size.

3). Provide a little detail about your album, and chose whether or not it should be Private or Public. (Private Albums can only be viewed by you, people on your friends and contact list, and the management)

Click the image to open in full size.

4). Use the 'Browse' button to find the pictures you want to upload. In this case I will upload 5. When ready, click 'Upload Pictures' at the bottom.

Click the image to open in full size.

Click the image to open in full size.

5). You will be prompted once your pictures have been uploaded, and given a chance to confirm that you want to save them. Click 'Save' at the bottom.

Click the image to open in full size.

Embedding a Picture from a Photo Album

1). Find a picture in an photo album that you'd like to embed. Below the picture you will see some text that provides a BB Code for that picture (only available on pictures you own - we can see it on all pictures).

Click the image to open in full size.

Copy that link and then go back to your post. Paste that link in your post and it will look like this:
[IMG]http://www.gt2gt3cup.org/picture.php?albumid=1&pictureid=7[/IMG]
But when the software assembles the post, it will parse the code and shows you and the other members this:

Go ahead and give it a try.
