Re: New front rotors for 997.2 GT3
We had to get new screws that hold the rotor to the hub carrier because the OEM screws are a completely different design and didn't fit the countersunk holes on the new rotor.

Re: New front rotors for 997.2 GT3
Did you happen to check weight difference between new and stock rotors?

Re: New front rotors for 997.2 GT3
I was under the impression that Porsche recommends replacing those red "nubs" every time one changes the rotors. So it's not really necessary? Looking at the pic from Suncoast, I guess it's because those fasteners have some green loctite on them?

My Porsche tech did not replace them either, he is a GT3 specialist and told me there wasn't a reason if all torque to specs.

Re: New front rotors for 997.2 GT3
I just purchased a new set of Girodisc rotors for my 2011 GT3 and they came with new hardware to replace the Red Nubs or whatever their called.
I change the rotors out at the track (MMP) on Sunday morning along with new Pagid pads, took about 35 minutes to change out rotors and pads. |

Re: New front rotors for 997.2 GT3
We kept the stock sized Pagid Black front pads for the AP Racing rotors. The outer pad on the passenger side was worn a bit more on the leading edge so we ended up flipping the pad. All the other pads were wearing evenly.
Sorry, didn't weigh the rotors to compare with stock. |
